This page fulfils the information duties under § 5 of the Austrian E-Commerce Act (ECG), the disclosure duty under § 25 of the Austrian Media Act (MedienG), and the duty to designate points of contact under Articles 11 and 12 of Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 (Digital Services Act, DSA).

Development and operation of the free, non-commercial application "Gipfelbuch" for mountaineering, ski touring and paragliding in the Alpine region. The app aggregates official weather and avalanche warnings, allows users to record their own tours, and provides a community-maintained collection of alpine geodata.
Use is free of charge. The project is financed exclusively by voluntary donations without any consideration in return. No advertising space is sold, no paid features are offered, and no user data is monetised.
Gipfelbuch is an independent, non-commercial information platform for mountain sports in the Alpine region. Its purpose is to make safety-relevant information — official warnings, avalanche bulletins, terrain data and first-hand reports from the user community — freely accessible, and thereby contribute to accident prevention.
Gipfelbuch is not affiliated with, financed by or influenced by any political party, interest group, tourism board or company in the mountain sports or equipment industry. Safety-critical features remain permanently and without exception free of charge.
The media owner is solely the natural person named under section 1, holding 100 %.
There are no shareholdings, participations, voting rights, silent partnerships or trust arrangements. There are no representative bodies, no supervisory board, and no participation in other media undertakings.

For content contributed by users, Art. 6 DSA applies: liability arises only upon actual knowledge of illegality. Following a report, content is reviewed without delay and removed or disabled where necessary.
The respective operators are solely responsible for the content of external websites linked to.
The app uses third-party map, weather and avalanche data under the respective licence terms. Full source attributions and licence notices are available at https://gipfelbuch-alpin.com/lizenzen and in the app under Settings → About → Data sources and licences.
The operator is neither obliged nor willing to participate in dispute resolution proceedings before a consumer arbitration body.
Users may at any time lodge a complaint directly with KommAustria pursuant to Art. 53 DSA (see section 5.4).
The service is operated by a single individual with no employees. To the extent Regulation (EU) 2022/2065 applies, the exemptions for micro and small enterprises under Art. 19 DSA are relied upon. This does not affect the obligation under Art. 24(3) DSA to communicate the average monthly active recipients to the Digital Services Coordinator or the Commission upon request, which will be complied with.
